Teaching style

We search to create lessons that ignite student interest with compelling and comprehensible input that highlight cultural connections. We strive to hit multiple AP Themes in our lessons as well as backward plan so that assessment comes natural to the students at the end of the unit. All assessments are modeled from AP and AAPPL tasks.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Arianne has presented at several conferences such as ACTFL, iFLT, FLENJ, NECTFL and MAFLA. In fact her session at FLENJ 2017 titled, "10 Reasons I LOVE to Teach with TPRS Novels" was voted best of FLENJ. In November 2019, Arianne presented 2 sessions at ACTFL! Arianne will be presenting a session at ACTFL 2020 about environmental consciousness. My own education history

Arianne loves to learn! She has a BA in Spanish literature and Psychology with a minor in International Studies. Soon after graduating she went back to obtain her MA in Spanish literature and MAT in Italian. She has spent a semester in Sevilla, Spain, a summer in Guadalajara, Mexico and a summer in Urbino, Italy. Her passion is to travel to Spanish-speaking countries with her three boys and her husband where she finds inspiration for creating new lessons to share on her blog. https://discoveringci.wordpress.com/ Zaida has a BA in Spanish literature.
