About the store
My educational career has spanned over 40+ years as a teacher of the hearing impaired, special educator/early interventionist, speech-language pathologist, assistant principal and principal. Every experience has greatly enriched my life.
As a new SLP in the 1980s, I developed Teddy Talker. I wanted create interactive, hands-on materials that children would love. I found some children needed a more multisensory bridge to articulation, sound/letter correspondence and early literacy! So "Teddy", the multisensory bear, was born to invite the imagination of children and physically engage the senses while learning. In 2012 my company, Creative Speech Products, became the official home of Teddy Talker, and his registered trademark was the next step. I also have provided professional development on multisensory interventions and creative techniques through puppetry, print and play. Oh, yes... I LOVE puppets...that's how the idea of Teddy, with his moveable mouth pieces and puppet tongue, came to life!

Teaching style
I am a strong believer that multisensory teaching through multiple modalities benefits all children. My teaching style allows children to construct their own knowledge and, most importantly, I believe learning should be FUN!
Just like the children we teach, we are ALL creative and each person expresses this creativity differently!

I have published about speech, language and literacy in the ASHA Leader. My speaking experience includes: PESI Seminar Speaker on the topic of Multisensory Interventions for Speech, Language and Literacy: Creative Puppetry, Print and Play Techniques (seminar, webinar and DVD.) and NILD Webinar on Speech and Language: Foundations for Literacy and an Enablemart Webinar on articulation with Teddy Talker™.
