I am in my seventh year of teaching. For my first two years I taught K-5 Science. It was a wonderful experience and established my love for teaching the subject. For the last four years I have been a First Grade teacher. It was definitely different than what I was used to, but I have fallen in love with the grade and age group. As a result of our adoption of a new reading and math series I have decided to develop manipulative centers that students can practice their skills individually or cooperatively.
Teaching requires patience, and learning requires noise. -B. Lisson I love embracing technology and cooperative learning in my classroom. I enjoy watching light bulbs come on as students defend their answers to a classmate.
Every time a student looks at me with that "AH HA!" moment shining it honors my soul and awards my heart. That is enough for me. Be someone's inspiration!
