Students work in teams to apply their math skills to plan a Journey to Mars. Ancient Civilizations Project
This project focuses on both ancient civilizations and the fundamental needs of humans. Students are required to focus on one fundamental need and how it has developed and changed over time.
Students were each given the outline so they could use it as a checklist. They were asked to record the fundamental need of their choice so I could see what each student had selected and make sure a variety were chosen. I encouraged students to choose different needs.

Project Based Learning- Wedding Cookie Table Planning (Multiplication)
Students will pretend they are wedding planners and help the bride and groom plan for their wedding cookie table. Read about the Pittsburgh-based tradition within the project and use websites of local bakeries to develop price quotes for the client. Students must use multiplication and online tools to complete this activity.
