Critical and Creative Thinking in 30 Minutes!
Creative and Critical Thinking in 30 minutes, is a dynamic activity that can be used as a formative assessment, indoor recess, stress buster, teambuilding, and for building critical and creative thinking skills. Students from grade 3 through grade 5 will utilize brainstorming skills such as: deferring judgment, piggybacking, forced relationships, brain drawing, categories and SCAMPER to identify problems and solutions.

Iron Bowl SCAMPER
This activity is a SCAMPER activity used to increase creative thinking and problem solving. SCAMPER stands for S-Substitute, C-Combine, A-Adapt, M-Modify, P-Put to other Uses, E-Eliminate, R-Reverse/Rearrange. This activity can be modified to work with almost any topic. I have used it with my gifted students many times. They enjoy the idea of changing up different elements to make it their own.
