This rubric is great for problem solving modules. I used this when I gave my students extremely challenging math problems that required collaboration to solve. This is best used with students in middle school and high school. Students can assign themselves the following roles: -Facilitator. Makes sure all group members are on task (no cell phones). -Spokesperson. Gets input from group before asking teacher a question. -Quality Control. Checks group’s answers to make sure it is accurate. Makes su

My 5th graders created wonderful Tessellations. They also learned a bit about geometry in the process (wow, teaching math the fun way!) I created this PowerPoint to introduce them to MC Escher and the concept of tessellations. I taught them how to make their 'template' or 'pattern' then turned them loose. This lesson was built on the lessons they learned in 4th grade when we did the Isometric Perspective and the Tiling lessons (also sold through this site).
