This is a practice worksheet for calculating percentages. It is set up as a mixed review of finding the part, the whole, or the percent. Included is a chart of equivalent forms of percents, fractions, and decimals.
This form allows students to explore the questions that they missed on a test and correct them. This is an easy tool for reteaching material and you can give credit back for work shown. I tell my students that this is the best way we can learn from our mistakes!
*This is best used for a math test.
This hands on lab focuses on changing fractions to decimals andpercents using either skittles or m&ms. Includes a reading passage on taking inventory and comprehension questions. Activity also extends to students presenting their data in the form of a circle graph. Requires students to collaborate and make real world connections to the skill!
Math can be complicated! The upside down division method saves a lot of time and energy. The same method can be used to solve four types of problems: prime factorization, greatest common factor, least common multiple, and simplifying of fractions. This packet contains excercise problems in sequential order. Students get to use the method many times before it gets more challenging. A quick quiz is included at the end and an answer key. I did not invent this method; I merely created a practi

Given a bag of M&Ms students will create fractions, decimals andpercents based on the colors they have in their bags to prove or disprove the claim made by the M&M company. I gave my students regular M&Ms, peanut M&Ms and peanut butter M&Ms based on student's ability. There are less M&Ms in the peanut bags because they are bigger which means it was easier for struggling students to work with. You can place students in pairs with this activity or they can work independently depending on how much
Learning the concept of percentage can be confusing, especially to students who are challenged by the language in word problems. For example, if a student doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “ratio,” then he will likely be frustrated by the process it represents even though he has strong math skills.
Every effort should be made to “translate” words into numbers, and sentences into equations, so that students can match words with mathematical processes. Use the Teaching Tips and Follow-up
QR Code Activity - Convert Decimals to Fractions andPercents
Students will record their answers on the answer sheet and scan the QR code at the NEXT station to confirm their answer.
Thank you for visiting my Teachers Pay Teachers store! I have taken great care in designing each worksheet, but occasional errors can happen. If you notice a mistake, please contact me so I can correct it rather than leaving a negative review. I truly appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to improve my resources. ***Please download the preview of this activity to see a SAMPLE copy*** This is a great quick activity to assess how well students understand comparing and ordering fractions andpercent. This is easy to grade and can be incorporated into a math center or as an in class assignment.
Students will design a playground on a 10x10 grid. Then find the fraction, decimal, andpercent form of each area of the playground. They will find the sum of the fractions, decimals, andpercents to ensure that each one equals one whole.
-math quiz on adding and subtracting money also contains word problems
-quiz done on graph paper so students will be sure to keep their decimal points and numbers lined up correctly. This is also an excellent modification.
This common core aligned matching game is great to use in cooperative learning stations. Students must try to find the matching pairs of equivalent percentsand decimals. This group activity is fun for students and includes a worksheet for students to show that they know how to change percents to decimals and decimals to percents.
Grade 1 Geometry Quiz. Students are to identify 2D / 3D shapes and their properties. This prints properly - not sure why the preview doesn't show the product correctly. The columns that appear on 1st page - will actually download and view in their proper spot (on the second page).
2D - students are to fill in the blanks and draw each shape.
3D - students are to draw lines connecting shape names to shape to its properties.
A quiz for adding and subtracting whole numbers and decimals. Has several sections, based on the Everyday Math Program, 6th grade text, but could be used with other programs if you teach the vocab.
There are different situations where the students will be asked to convert a decimal to a percent, ratio or fraction; a ratio to a fraction, decimal, andpercent; fraction to a percent, decimal and ratio; percent to a fraction, decimal, and ratio.
This is a 16 question quiz on place value with 15 multiple choice questions, 1 short answer, and 1 bonus question. The place value topics covered are: place value positions value of a number periods forms of a number equivalent decimals An answer key is included.
This is a 2 x 1 digit and 3 x 1 digit multiplication quiz using the box method and the algorithm. This is a great worksheet for both re-teaching and also extension. If students are struggling, focus on them using the box method and helping them remain organized if their work. If they have a solid understanding of multiplication and are fluent with the box method, encourage them to work more on the algorithm. Students can also be encouraged to complete the box method first and then use the algori
This worksheet provides more practice with ratios andpercents using cross-multiplication. Scaffolding is provided to give beginning students or struggling learners extra help to master this concept.
