Essays, phrases, sentence types, parts of speech, parts of a sentence, six traits, the writing process...this review has everything! This packet is great for a Langauage Arts Bee at the end of the year or a review before a big test. The answers are typed right next to the question. Also, you could give it to parents at open house. It is a great overview of the 7th grade ELA curriculum.
It's easy! Just cut down the center! The directions and examples are on the left. Write your own poem on the right! This packet is a poetry book that explains many genres, gives examples, and then allows students to write their own. I gave this packet to my seventh graders and they completed it on their own with little help from me. The poems get more complex as students move forward. They are easy to cut down the center and look nice on a bulletin board.
You should not teach content the first week of school. So what are you supposed to do with your students? Here is a list of the things I do with my students at the beginning of each year.
Teaching students how to compare functions can be tricky. This graphic organizer is a great reminder for students. I show it to my regular education students and have them take copy it. I hand it out to my special education students. It explains how to find and compare slopes and y-intercepts.
I compiled a list of ways to improve test scores. All of these ideas work! Not only will your students test scores go up, but you will have a more structured and successful classroom. *Use the list as a checklist! *Give to a coworker as a gift! *Use this in your evaluation portfolio! *Bring a copy to your next PLC/RTI meeting! *Keep a copy under your keyboard as a daily reminder!

The basic properties of mathematics (commutative, identity, associative) are difficult for students to conceptualize. Therefore, I created this bookmark for my math students. It takes care of two issues. One, students need to know the textbook page where there homework is located. Two, they always have a quick definition and example of the properties.
Planning a field trip can be time consuming and confusing. Here is a simple ten step check list to help you plan a smooth and safe trip. I have also attatched a sample permission slip! My coworkers all use my checklist too!
The distributive property needs to be broken into steps for students. I created this sheet for my math class. It is in simple steps with examples. You can even laminate it or tape a clear overhead sheet over it! Use some dry erase markers and it is very helpful!!!!
Math can be complicated! The upside down division method saves a lot of time and energy. The same method can be used to solve four types of problems: prime factorization, greatest common factor, least common multiple, and simplifying of fractions. This packet contains excercise problems in sequential order. Students get to use the method many times before it gets more challenging. A quick quiz is included at the end and an answer key. I did not invent this method; I merely created a practi

The seventh grade constitution test can be difficult to study for. I created a snow man graphic organizer for my students. The three main pieces of the snowman represent: the preamble, the articles, and the amendments. The snowman's buttons represent the three main branches of government. The snowman's scarf contains information on the legislative branch and his arms contain information on the judicial branch. Have students highlight the facts they already have memorized! Happy studying!
Pre-school and Kindergarten and Parents 1. Introduce the number to the student. 2. On a dry erase board or chalk board, demonstrate how to write the number. Go slow and write as large as you can. 3. Give the student the worksheet for the day. Have them use a highlighter or thick marker to trace the number, write the number in the open boxes, trace the spelling of the word, and then put stickers in the rectangle at the bottom. 4. If the student is struggling, place dots for them to connect.
Looking for ways to educate and entertain little ones? I created this guide for my own children this summer. Being a teacher, I want to give my own children a head start to kindergarten. This guide includes tons of activities and ideas for each letter of the alphabet. I am teaching my children one letter a day and when I am done with that, I am going to teach them lower case letters (one day at a time).
I created a Long Range Plan for 7th grade ELA. I currently keep a copy on my desk. It's always great to have a plan. There is more material than possible to teach. But my coworkers enjoy the layout.
Word choice can be difficult to assess. I typed a sample of poor word choice. Have students correct this paragraph in red pen. There is enough room for corrections
This is a great review of all fraction concepts. It includes: adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and converting mixed numbers and improper fractions.
