This is a 4 page document that I used in my 3rd, 4th and 5th grade class to get parents into the classroom to discuss their jobs. This was an important part of our units in 4th and 5th grades as students begin to think about what they want to be when they grow up. Tessellation For Hope Math Service Project Based Learning

Transform mathematical concepts into meaningful art. For my 8th grade class, we partnered with a local non-profit organization to create a tessellation that would be hung at their central office to spread hope to victims of domestic abuse. The tessellation was displayed in their office where victims attend support groups. We chose to tessellate leave to represent change and growth, in the shape of a heart, to express love and empathy.
