This is a letter I used to inform parents at the beginning of the year of my classroom policies regarding homework, late work, missing work, projects and no name papers.
This was intended for 5th grade but can be modified for any upper grade levels. It includes an acknowledgement section (which became VERY helpful when procedures were not followed later in the year.)

100th Day of School Parent Letter *student project idea and dress up like 100
I send this letter home to the parents to prepare for the 100th day of school celebration. In the letter, it tells the parents to create a project with their child to demonstrate 100 (on a poster, shirt, fill a jar). I also give a list of ideas to have their child dress up like 100 years old. Such a fun day! It is my favorite! :)

Independent Project Progress Log
This progress log is designed help the student and teacher monitor progress on independent project work. It can be used for any cultural area and tailored to meet individual classroom needs. In my classroom, I have a specialized "menu" for each of the major cultural areas. When a student chooses a project, they submit their project proposal using the "Independent Research Project Proposal Contract". Both the proposal form and project "menu" are available for download on this site, as well.
