Fun with shapes and playdoh
This is a fun activity to do with small children.
With the playdoh, they have to make the shape and place it inside the shape. This promotes and increases fine motor skills and manipulation.
If you feel the playdoh is too easy or simply want to change the activity, allow the child to make a shape within the lines of the shape, without any deviation.
This activity also promotes visual motor integration, which in the long run helps with their handwriting skills.

This is a little powerpoint I put together to help my students stay true to their instrument goals and to help me keep track of it all for easy access. It also helps them to see other student's goals because it keeps them accountable for what they are learning as well as challenges them to reach for goals they may not have otherwise tried.
