Quiz and Test Parent Communication Slip

This is something that I experimented with last year in teaching. A lot of times I would send home assessments to keep the parents in the loop of how their child was doing in class and what grades to expect. Well, I was coming to the conclusion that those assessments were not getting home, particularly the ones that were not so hot on the grading scale. On each assessment day whether quiz or test I would attached this to EACH one of my students assessments no matter if they got a 100%. I did thi

I have created a reading log system that will work for 4th grade and up. I have always had my students keep track of the books they are reading. I set my reading log system up as follows: Using a file folder, we staple the reading log onto the inside of the folder. Then all the summary sheets are added to the folder as the students complete the books. The RC on the reading log stands for Reading Counts quiz or AR test. After taking the test, they write their score in that box. If the s

I use these for extra motivation for AR quizzes. Every time students get an 100% on a quiz, I hole punch an apple. When they fill up the card, I give them a small book and a restaurant coupon. I have found that students get really excited when they get a new hole punch, and are counting how many more they need in order to fill up the card. I really hope these are successful in your classroom. The file includes the cards in English and Spanish. The format is the same except for "name vs. nombre."
