Hi there homeschool moms and teachers! My son had a incredibly hard time remembering the acronym (Dead Monkeys Smell Bad) for simple division and also remembering where the numbers in the problem went when writing them. So, I created this worksheet that helped him keep everything lined up and neat so that he could write and solve the problems with ease. Now that my son is past this point, I thought I would share this instead of just tossing it. I hope someone finds it useful. :)

I keep this at my guided reading table. Whenever we play "Bears in the Cave" I just do a quick check next to the numbers the students get correct. This helps me to know where the students are, but most importantly it helps me to quickly group students for math centers. I can have my higher students (the ones in the teens-twenties) quiz each other as a center. I can pull my lowest ones and work on them one on one.
