I use these rubrics in my classroom. I keep them in Word format because I like to modify them a bit based on the assignment/prompt. Sometimes I use a word count, other times page count. If I'm working on something like "voice" I emphasize that more on the rubric. If my recent lesson is on subordinating conjunctions, I emphasize that. In our school, a lock-down or CODE RED is when all students and staff sit quietly in a safe place in their classrooms with the doors locked and out of sight from hallway, doors and windows. The reason we would need to have a CODE RED would be because there was an intruder in the school building and we are not sure if they are a safe person.
