STAAR TEK 5.4C That's MY Ordered Pair! and That's MY Coordinate Pair!

Students play this game in pairs, rotating from station to station; or the pages may be copied and used as individual homework. One sheet with a blank table is included after the answer key. Materials Needed: Page Protectors, Two Different Colors of Dry Erase Markers Per Pair, Game Sheet per Station Objective: To win, name more correct ordered pairs for the rule than your partner and identify the rule. This game is adapted from the formative assessment of Find Someone Who... Here are the rules. Each child will have this sheet. They need to find classmates to solve each math problem on their sheet. When a child solves a problem, they need to write their name in the box. (This helps you monitor work and if there is an incorrect answer, you know who to ask to fix it.) The most important rules are you cannot solve more than 1 problem on a classmate's sheet and you cannot solve a problem you have a

Graphing Editable Giant Coordinate Plane for Floor or Wall with Lesson Plan

This giant coordinate plane helps students learn to graph ordered pairs and visualize the origin. Format was created on Microsoft Word. This download has numbers zero through three, but it is editable to enlarge or duplicate and add more numbers. I tape this one to the floor (about one square tile apart) and my students graph with whole body movements. The kids love jumping to graph. Once mastered, they enjoy quizzing each other with ordered pairs and graphing larger numbers around the room. It

Graphing Sums (Adding two numbers)

This is a graphing and addition game for partners. Each group will have two die. The partners take turns rolling the die and adding the numbers together. They will then color in a square on the graph for that number. I place this paper in a sheet protector and they use an expo marker to color in the squares. This makes it easy for them to play several times.

Coordinate Plane Battleship

Fun way to have your students practice reading and identifying points on a coordinate plane. Uses 1st quadrant only. Print and laminate for repeated use! Have students place their ships on the left. Using 2 colors of dry erase markers, they make guesses on the right side, marking a miss with one color and a hit with another. On the left side, they mark the misses and hits from their opponents guesses. CCSS.Math.Content.5.G.A.1

Kids practice graphing with a friend while trying to sink their ship. I had the kids plot their points and then draw a skinny oval around it to make a ship. Then, when hit, they put an x on the point of the ship hit.

Coordinate Graphing Battle Ship

The game was created to review coordinate graphing in the first quadrant. I can recreate to incorporate other quadrants if you need those. The game is play just like the board game Battleship. Students call out coordinates and map them on the record sheet to try to be the first player to "sink" a ship.
