This giant coordinate plane helps students learn to graph ordered pairs and visualize the origin. Format was created on Microsoft Word. This download has numbers zero through three, but it is editable to enlarge or duplicate and add more numbers. This is a graphing and addition game for partners. Each group will have two die. The partners take turns rolling the die and adding the numbers together. They will then color in a square on the graph for that number. I place this paper in a sheet protector and they use an expo marker to color in the squares. This makes it easy for them to play several times.

Fun way to have your students practice reading and identifying points on a coordinate plane. Uses 1st quadrant only. Print and laminate for repeated use! Have students place their ships on the left. Using 2 colors of dry erase markers, they make guesses on the right side, marking a miss with one color and a hit with another. Kids practice graphing with a friend while trying to sink their ship. I had the kids plot their points and then draw a skinny oval around it to make a ship. Then, when hit, they put an x on the point of the ship hit.

The game was created to review coordinate graphing in the first quadrant. I can recreate to incorporate other quadrants if you need those. The game is play just like the board game Battleship. Students call out coordinates and map them on the record sheet to try to be the first player to "sink" a ship.
