This could be used as an assessment of activity. Fantasy Vacation Internet Research Project
This lesson plan was designed to increase the computer literacy and internet research skills of 7th and 8th grade English Language Learners with very little experience with computers. Students use the internet to schedule a flight, hotel, transportation and visits to attractions within a two-week time span. Students must carefully budget their expenses. Students use power point to organize their information and photos. The assignment sheet and grading rubric are within the Notebook file.

Building Bridges, Building with a Variety of Materials
This is a Notebook lesson consisting of approx. 36 slides. It contains short student notes on five different types of bridges, beam, truss, arch, cantilever, and suspension. For all but the cantilever bridge there are challenges for the students which consist of four projects using materials like spaghetti, marshmallows, toothpicks, sugar cubes, string and paper. The final challenge uses popsicle sticks and glue. Students can use anyone of the types of bridges and try to design the strongest

All About Alaska
I created this SMART Board Lesson to go along with a mapping activity for our Cold Lands Unit which focussed on Alaska and Antarctica. We followed the SMART Board slides to see real pictures and learn about specific areas in Alaska. Then, my students got together in small groups to find these areas on their own Alaskan maps. After they found each item, they filled in their own Alaskan map including their key. This was very beneficial to my students and increased their excitment about Alaska.

All About Me - Math Windows
As a back to school or All About Me activity, students will create a "math window" that represents the important numbers in their lives. Numbers are everywhere. This is a great way to get them back into a math mode and get them thinking about numbers. It's also a nice way for students to explore the numbers in their worlds and display them colorfully in the classroom. It can work as a great ice-breaker as well.
As an enrichment activity, students can cover their information with post-it/sticky
