Teachers students how to code in Python 3 (all resources are freely available online). (there is a free teachers guide to this assignment) Asks students to create a flow diagram (pseudo-code) and then a code (Python) that verifies what shape (square, rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram, trapezoid, kite) a set of four (x,y) coordinates creates (if any). Compass Animals

Students can choose between 6 different animals to construct completely out of circles. By constructing their animals they are practicing measuring with a ruler (using both metric and English measurements) and using a compass. This is also great review for circle vocabulary such as radius and diameter. This activity includes the instructions for a bear, panda, turtle, pig, frog, and lady bug. Each animal has the dimensions for all body parts.
