Literature (Lit) Circle Evaluation Rubric Participation Meeting Discussions ELA
This rubric can be used to assign a grade to students for their participation in their assigned Literature Circle discussion groups. The rubric is designed for 4 Literature Circle discussion meetings, but could easily be adapted for more or less. The rubric addresses student's participation as well as preparedness.

Customary Measurements Conversions: "The Cheat Codes
This is a list of cusomary units of measurements conversion for Length, Weight, and Capacity.
In my class, I use the Video Game term, "Cheat Code" to refer to these conversion numbers.
For example: If a problem deals with Inches & Feet, the Cheat Code is 12. If a problem deals with Quarts & Gallons, the Cheat Code is 4. You always multiply or divide by the Cheat Code to convert.

Rubric for Nonfiction Writing
This is a rubric I created for our creative nonfiction unit in writing. The students score themselves 0-2 on punctuation, grammar, figurative language, & paragraph usage. It's a great tool for them to go back and edit their rough drafts before they publish to a final piece. The teacher fills one out and you can compare results if you'd like. It's also a great sheet for data or if you discuss grades with parents.

Recording Reading Data
Ever wondered how to record your reading data? I've created a simple colour coded template to record PM periodically throughout the year! All you have to do is to insert your student's names on the left and colour code according to the timeframes.
