FREE Math Pre-Assessment of Basic Skills: Grades 6-8
This is a FREE Math Pre-Assessment that I use in my Grade 7 classroom. It looks at basic skills - multiplication, division, rounding, place value, area, fractions, percents, decimals etc. It's surprising how many students even in Grade 8 or 9 who struggle with long division, for example. This short pre-assessment gives you a starting place for working with your students in September.

Free Math Word Problems
This product is a simple math worksheet. It contains a few simple long division and basic multiplication word problems. Contains 2 by 1 digit division, 2 by 2 digit division. Contains several finished early problems for students to work on. This is a very basic worksheet. Excellent for homework, classwork, and reviewing. It can be used with manipulatives to solve the problems. Great for third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders.

FREE Mad Integer Minutes
Give students 3 minutes to complete as many integer problems as possible. Just like traditional Mad Minutes, give repeatedly to see growth. There are five columns, one for each operation and a fifth focusing on 3 term addition. You can measure growth overall or per column to determine where further practice is required. It can also be used as a homework assignment or enhancement tool.

We printed this double sided and laminated it for our students. It shows many of the concepts that we teach our year 7 & 8 maths students and is designed as a revision tool. Time, place value, fractions, division, array multiplication, double number line are a few of the concepts displayed but not algebra. The page is set up to be printed on A3 paper. The sheet can be provided as a study guide or as something for students to keep on an everyday basis. It provides a yes and no system for students to know which steps to take next when adding and subtracting fractions.
