Viewing Guide: Animatronics

This activity was designed with 8th-grade Middle School students in mind as a way to activate and increase their background knowledge on the topic of Animatronics, as well as their scientific vocabulary in this field. It can easily be adapted to a 6th-grade group by reducing its length and complexity by half (ie. include only two parts, A and B, instead of three; cut down the number of blanks to 10-11, instead of 22). For a 7th-grade class, I would recommend finding a middle ground. Studen

The “W” column reveals students’ questions and curiosities, allowing the teacher to tailor lessons to student interests and areas of confusion. Finally, the “L” column serves as a

Absent Slip for High School

I live by this slip, y'all! I use absence folders in my high school classroom to make students' absences easier on them AND myself. I used to think they were too time consuming, but once I started my system, it's actually time saving! The problem comes in when we have work that cannot be easily put in the folder. That's where these come in! Any time we take a test or quiz, do in-class reading, or turn something in -- anything that I can't physically put in the folder -- I fill out one of these.
