Flow chart for solving quadratic equations

This flow chart gives a structured way to solve a quadratic equation. I came up with this after noticing that even my pre-calculus and calculus students spent a lot of time (when they reached a quadratic equation) trying to factor. If the students use this regularly, they will remember the method and save a lot of time. A good strategy for preparing for SATs too.

I created this powerpoint and flow chart for them to keep as a visual reminder. They're finally able to see how a relation must be a function before even questioning if its linear, and they see it must be linear before even questioing if its proportional!
