Students are asked to find the equation for number of small cubes with three, two, one, and no sides painted for a larger cube of any side length n. It is valuable as a formative task to help students get used to investigation task structure or possibly as a formative assessment. I would not recommend using it formally as a summative task. It is essentially four mini-investigations in one instead of one investigation whos

Instead of having a unit test over the skills in our function unit, I allowed students to show mastery using the Plot me a Picture Project (also found in my TPT store) and this quiz.
It is a 16 point quiz that addresses:
- interpreting graphs
- domain and range
- identifying functions
- evaluating functions
It took my students about 20 minutes to complete from start to finish so I preceded it with about 20 minutes of whiteboard practice and a review Do Now to fill the period.
