Workbook | 100 Math Python Exercises | Middle School | High School

Treat yourself and your kids with this Python coding workbook. It contains algebraic hands-on exercises. It is a perfect book to augment your Intro To Coding, Intro to Python, or Python Intermediate Coding. Some Computer Science Teachers can also use this for their AP CSP classes. The level is Algebra 1 so this book is mainly for Middle School, however in some schools this can also be used in High School. Being cross curricular (coding and Algebra) the book is also an excellent prep f

Populations Math Performance Task- Pythons in the Everglades (NGSS:HS-LS2-2)

Science phenomena in the classroom! In this performance task students are asked to show their knowledge of the rate of change for alligator populations and python populations. They will be given data sets and asked to draw a line of best fit and solve for different x and y values based on their equation of the line. They will be asked to conclude on what happened to the alligator population when Pythons were introduced based on the claim and background data they have been given. This assignm

This activity can be done in groups, pairs, or individually. I use it as a station when we are working on unit conversion. Other stations will include similar activities involving linear measurement, volume, and area. Students will be given a set of 14 cards. 7 of them have a subject (ex: human, car, turtle...) and the other 7 have a speed in various units (ex: 211 ft/min, 80.47 km/hr, ...) Students will first match the speeds with the subject they think it corresponds with. After they record

Students can choose between 6 different animals to construct completely out of circles. By constructing their animals they are practicing measuring with a ruler (using both metric and English measurements) and using a compass. This is also great review for circle vocabulary such as radius and diameter. This activity includes the instructions for a bear, panda, turtle, pig, frog, and lady bug. Each animal has the dimensions for all body parts.
