While teaching 4th grade math in summer school this year I needed some specific things in my place value chart. I was unable to find the perfect one so I made one and I'd like to share it with you. It is editable! I printed out a copy and then inserted it into a dry erase pocket for the students to use well at centers. They were able to use it while working on individual work as well. It was helpful during interventions. I paired it with place value disks and base 10 blocks while we working thro

As students fill in the correct number on the 100 chart a picture begins to appear. If they type the wrong number the square stays white. The picture is a sailboat! A great way to use this is to delete random numbers from it already filled so its like a puzzle missing pieces and the kids have to fill in the missing numbers.

Place Value Comparison Chart

This chart works great for students that need to visually see the numbers that they are comparing. The individualized column prevents some of the common mistakes students make when they write the numbers that they need to compare. Students can visually see the number in its corresponding place value column. Print back-to-back on cardstock paper. Laminate it and allow students to use dry erase markers to work out their problems.

This Place Value Chart helps students see how numbers are divided into periods and that each period has a sections for ones, tens, and hundreds (followed by the period's name). This chart also shows students where to place commas, and they soon learn to "read" the commas by stating the name of each period that the comma follows.

Except for a few, my students all speak both English and Spanish. A few of my students do not have any English at all except for hello. I created this place value chart to help both my English speakers and my Spanish speakers follow along during a lesson on place value. Don't forget to return to my store and post your feedback! If you have any questions or suggestions, please e-mail me before posting feedback. Thanks!

A place value chart is a must in the math classroom. Students can use these charts to create a number and write the word form and the expanded for the number. Easy to use! I have an activity where the students work in groups of 2 and create the largest or smallest number possible using a 10 sided die. They love the activity because they create the number! They then write the number in expanded and word form.

This is a resource for teaching place value. Have students fill in the chart to practice creating numbers. For instance, "Write a 3 in the tens place, a 4 in the hundredths place, a 6 in the thousands place, a 7 in the millions place and a 5 in all other places. What is the number?" Or "Write a five digit number with a 2 in the thousands place, a 5 in the tenths place, an 8 in the tenths place and a 3 in the other two places. What is the number?"
