Looking for a good excuse to show a movie? Use The Lightning Thief to show students just how different the book and movie can be! The directions ask students to mark an x in one column to show if the event was in just the book or just the movie. Some rows need an x for both! I used this during the movie as a note-taking device. This updated version includes both a blank student version and a teacher's answer key. Don't forget to return to my store and post your feedback! If you have any conc

Give students a variety of practice supporting their steps in an algebra problem! Great for getting started with proofs as students must actively think about their reasons for changing the equation in each step. You can do the first example together to show what is expected in each two-column proof by filling in the blanks with the reasons. You can require informal reasons (adding) or formal (Addition Property of Equality). I gave my geometry students a problem or strips from multiple sections

I plan to use this packet of Spanish 1 present tense verb conjugation (within sentences!) as a way to incorporate mastery learning. I had students who (at the beginning of Spanish 1 during the 3rd unit) could not match the "yo" form ending to its appropriate use in a sentence and knew I wanted something that would help. My original intention was to provide work time for students, during which everyone started on page 1 and did the first 10 problems. Once they were complete, they had to get th

About the store

Experience

I am now teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry in Honduras! Last year, I was teaching Spanish. The year before that, I taught Pre-Algebra to Hispanic students in Detroit. My experience in Spanish includes 9 years of class and trips to Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Argentina, and the Dominican Republic - and now living in Honduras!

Teaching style

I tend to do things orally, but am working to incorporate more visuals, especially for Geometry. I also tend to be a worksheet teacher which is sometimes good on TpT, but not always good in the classroom - working to change that!

Awards & shining teacher moments

I've always been a great student, but no teacher awards of which to brag yet.

My own education history

I went to Lamphere High School and Spring Arbor University.

Additional biographical information

I run and read in my free time.
