Measurement and Equivalent Bingo
This is a fun game to quiz students about measurement equivalence. I use this after I teach students about measurement abbreviations, equivalence. For example, if I pull out "pt." I will say, what does this stand for? A:pint, How many cups are in a pint? This is also a great lesson for substitutes.

Fraction project: I want to be a caterer!
This project is broken into three tasks that increase in difficulty as students work through. It is a real life project that combines fraction, multiplication, addition, and money standards. It takes students through cooking scenarios with having to adapt recipes to feed a certain amount of guests. The third task also includes adding money as the students "shop" for their ingredients at the store. This project is meant as an enrichment opportunity for students in upper elementary.

Cooking with Math Multiplying and Dividing Fractions Project & Task Cards

Great assessment for the end of a fractions unit!
Students will practice tripling (multiplying by 3) and halving (dividing by 2) a recipe. Recipe must include whole numbers, fractions, and mixed numbers. Students will present their findings on a mini poster and show their peers. Rubric included.
*Most of my students asked if they could actually bake their recipe so I offered extra credit!
