Archimedes was a Greek scientist/mathematician who discovered that an object, when submerged in a fluid, experienced a buoyant force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object. In other words, he got into a tub and it overflowed. The amount of water displaced from the tub was equal to the weight of his immersed body. ArchiRap and the ArchiRap Lab are effective methods for introducing your students to the Archimedes Principle.
