Using the Guided Language Acquisition Design strategy, Expert Groups, I have written 10 pages of informational text. There are 5 different content areas that are present in the informational text for the teacher to guide the students in reading / annotating in a small group setting. This can take 20-35 minutes depending on the skills and needs of the students. To complete the notes, I may recommend complete these in 2 sessions of 20 minutes each. Animals of the Deciduous Forest using Multiplication
Students will practice 54 simple multiplication facts and use the answers to decode the names of 10 animals found in the deciuous forest. Students also find all of the problems that demonstrate the identity property of multiplication. There are some challenge opportunities listed at the end of the sheet for students to explore more skills (including alphabetical order, writing a story, researching the animals, and creating more math problems).
