Fraction Craft - Turtle Fractions
Combine a math lesson (fractions - halves, thirds, quarters, fifths or sixths) with craft and creativity!This packet will provide you with template pieces to make a cute 'Fraction Turtle' for classroom display! Students will color their chosen fraction turtle. They will then label their turtle shell to show the fractions as equal parts. Turtle Race - Converting Metric Units
On this worksheet, ten turtles are competing in a 30 meter distance speed race. Students convert between metric units of length and distance and discover which turtle wins the race. Students must be familiar with the “metric stairs” and converting regular fractions into decimal fractions in order to be able to complete this assignment. My students use the acronym "Turtles Have Tiny Heads" to help remember the order of the place values that fall after the decimal.
