Who's Who and What
In this graphing puzzle, the student will:
1). plot points in a coordinate plane (some fractions).
2). draw some line segments.
3). reflect segments across and y-axis.
4). take the per cent of a number (more difficult per cents).
5). multiply a proper fraction and a whole number
Please do not be intimidated by the 8.1 Core Standard number if it appears in the "core numbers" . . . it is the one that has the student work with reflections (among other things). Our reflections
Students have a puzzle worksheet that includes writing equations of parallel and perpendicular lines by graphing and by solving equations. A short 4 question quiz (2 versions) is included.
This can be used as a quiz or just a classwork assignment. It checks for understanding of how to set up a coordinate plane, labeling all the quadrants, and then plotting points with reflections over the axes. The last part the students will plot their own coordinate and then reflect that point, too.
*This only covers reflection using an axis.

This worksheet is part of an accelerated course designed to teach all of the eighth grade mathematical standards and all of the high school Algebra 1 standards in one school year. Students should have demonstrated mastery of all seventh grade standards prior to admittance, but enrollment in a seventh grade accelerated math program is absolutely not required for success. The problems are in order from easy for most to challenging for all. Answers are not included. Those are intended to be pr
Quiz on quadratic parent function. Students must graph the quadratic parent function, label points,, domain, range, and other characteristics of the graph of a parabola, draw parameter changes of the quadratic parent function,
This is a lesson that includes finding area or parallelograms and trapezoids. This is part of a 4 lesson mini unit that would include a quiz. This lesson requires the student to identify the height and bases of parallelograms and trazoids. It comes with key concepts, formulas and practice examples.
2 worksheets for practice graphing points on Quadrant 1 of the coordinate plane and XY patterns. This resource is perfect for practice, homework, quizzes or homeschooling.
Given graphs, mapping diagrams, tables, and sets of ordered pairs, students will identify relations that are functions and provide justifications. They will also create their own function data set and analyze whether points in a given data set should be connected with a line. An answer key is provided. This product is designed to be a quiz, but could be used as a worksheet.
Quiz on linear parent function. Students must graph the linear parent function, label points, shade regions above and below it and draw other specified lines such as parallel lines.
A brief assessment asking students to determine slope of a line from a graph and using the slope formula. The slope formula has been provided on the sheet, and can be edited off as needed if you want to move this from a homework type assessment to a test style assessment.
This PowerPoint document contains the graphs of 15 circles that you can cut, paste, and resize for for use in your tests, quizzes, homework, or other classroom purpose. Not for commercial use. All of the graphs are centered at (0, 0). There are ten circles of radii 1-10 displayed on a 10x10 grid and five circles of radii 1-5 displayed on a 5x5 grid.
This free PowerPoint document contains the graphs of 10 ellipses that you can cut and paste and resize for for use in your tests, quizzes, homework, or other classroom purpose. Not for commercial use. All of the graphs are centered at (0, 0) and have a horizontal major axis. Length of the major axis ranges from 2 to 10.
Want to keep Valentine's Day fun while still teaching an important math concept? In this activity, students will be challenged not only to create a pie chart based on Conversation Heart colors, but in the process will practice the skill of converting a fraction to a decimal to a percent! *Conversation hearts not included obviously... but go pick them up at your local grocery or convenient store!
These Geometry Warm Ups/Bellringers are great for the first quarter of the school year for a geometry focused class.
