My 1st graders were really struggling with the concept of fact families, so in order to simplify it, I taught them to color code their fact family bubbles to have a visual aid to see where each part and whole goes.
This can be a great introduction activity, a review activity, or a work station page to help students grasp the concept and pattern of fact families and number bonds.
