2nd Grade Math Common Core 2.G.2 SMART
This SMART Notebook lesson teaches students about partitioning a rectangle into rows and columns of same-size squares and count to find the total number of them. This is from the 2nd Grade Standard 2 of the Common Core. This is used to work with 2nd graders on area. Let your students interact with this lesson and create the project at the end of the lesson to make the concept something they will not only understand but be able to apply and create.

This unit contains activities from exploring the pumpkin to having the teacher cut the lid off and dig out the seeds. Make a pie in a Ziploc bag. Pumpkin Math Placemats - Using Pumpkin Seeds
Now you have all those pumpkin seeds, what do you do???
This activity uses those pumpkins seeds to reinforce addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Print out the "pumpkin place-mat" and have your students work the math problems out using pumpkin seeds. Print in color on card-stock front to back for years of repeated use. Makes clean up a snap. Also check out the SMART Notebook version for interactivity in the classroom.

Box and Whiskers QR Codes
After students have learned Box and Whiskers, this lesson will be an added technique for review. Students use internet connected mobile devices with a bar-code scanner/reader to access Box and Whiskers problems using QR Codes. Each QR Code asks the students to provide the following information: data least to greatest, mean, mode, median, range, lower extreme, lower quartile(Q1), median, upper quartile(Q3), upper extreme, and IQR.
This packet includes 20 QR Codes and the answer key.

Greater Than Less Than SMART v11 Activity Builder

Introduce greater than and less than in your mathematics classroom with this SMART Notebook file. Using the Activity Builder in SMART Notebook 11 students are able to feed an alligator the numbers that answer the math greater then less than question. Students select and drag the number to feed the alligator. If the answer is correct the number will disappear into the alligators mouth. If the number is incorrect the number will return to
