This is a project handout that guides students through making a slide tessellation. Pictures, background information, history, step by step procedures, and rubric are included in the zip file. The actual handout is 2 pages and the rubric is 1 page. A few preview are included
This is a project relating exponential growth and decay to the zombie apocalypse. Students go through the infection and deprive their equation with the help of a table. Apply change of base formula and logs to find calculations, and get a short glimpse at exponential decay. The packet is about 6 pages in all. My students really enjoyed it!! I am uploading as a word doc so you can change the names of schools/teachers.
This is a graphic organizer flow chart that outlines the methods for recursive and explicit forms of geometric and arithmetic sequences. The flow chart is easy to follow and aesthetically pleasing. Two versions are included. First, a completed copy. Second is a blank copy if you want to have students complete as guided notes. Enjoy!
This is a one day project/discovery activity where students use rope to create triangles of various sizes and measurements to stumble upon the Pythagorean Theorem. The second part has students using rope to prove or disprove if a triangle is a right triangle based on what they learned in Part I.
This is a graphic organizer flow chart that outlines the methods for solving absolute value equations. The flow chart is easy to follow and aesthetically pleasing. Two versions are included. First, a completed copy. Second is a blank copy if you want to have students complete as guided notes. Enjoy!
This activity reviews all methods of solving quadratics. It has problems that are split into the following categories: solve by graphing, factoring, square roots, completing the square, and quadratic formula. Each category is accompanied with a QR code that lists the answers and distractor answers for students to check their work. It works well as a review activity before a test.
This is a jeopardy review game involving everything with functions. The categories are: 1) finding the intersections of two functions, 2) completing tables of functions 3) working with features of graphs of functions and 4) vocabulary involving functions
This is a self guided activity that highlights the concepts of intersecting functions. The activity walks students through graphing two functions on the graphing calculator and finding the intersections. It connects it to concepts of finding intersections of functions algebraically as well.
This activity reviews graphing systems of linear inequalities. Students access each inequality of the system through a QR code, so they end up "building a system of inequalities." Each problem is accompanied with a QR code that connects to a youtube solution. It works well as a review activity before a test.
This is a graphic organizer flow chart the outlines the methods for factoring quadratics with 2, 3, and 4 terms. The flow chart is easy to follow and aesthetically pleasing. Two versions are included. First, a completed copy. Second (what you see in the preview) is a blank copy if you want to have students complete as guided notes. Enjoy!
This is an 8min video walkthrough of making a tessellation from beginning to end. Mandarin music and quirky captions added. Also check out the tessellations rubric and project in my store that go with this video. Ive used time lapse to help speed up the process!
A short preview of the video is attached as a prevued. You can download as a zip
This is a graphic organizer/guided notes for introductory vocab on functions (such as quadratic, increasing, domain, etc.). Pictures are included to help students remember concepts. Columns have students define, give an illustration, and an example/
This is a fun ppt demonstration on how to reduce a radical with whole numbers. It is told as a story of a "radical party." The ppt can be edited to your specific needs and includes music and animations (which should work with any computer with Microsoft ppt).
