About the store
I am in my 12th year of teaching. First graders are definitely the best age of kiddos to teach! I can't explain the amount of love I have for teaching them to read and watch their growth throughout the entire year. It is astonishing! I have been making powerpoints and many activities and graphic organizers for my own classroom and other teachers for awhile now. Now I just need to make the time to post them on here! (That's more than half the battle!)

This bundle includes all the activities you need for word work for Skills Block rotations for First Grade. This is my second year implementing EL Education Skills Block. My first year was pre-covid. I used many shared items: magnet letters, scrabble tiles, markers, Wikki Stix, Playdoh and letter cubes. Since coming back in pandemic-mode, I have changed the way I implement Skills Block, tremendously. After 3 months of racking my brain on HOW TO MAKE IT WORK, I have come up with this Skills Block

This product is used to supplement the EL Education program for 1st grade. In my classroom I print these in color and laminate them. At the top right corner you will see something similar to this: G1.M2.U3.L4. This is essentially the breadcrumbs for Grade 1, Module 2, Unit 3, Lesson 4. This is the exact lesson where you will introduce the word. I group my cards by modules and units so that I have them ready when I need them! There are 2 word cards on each page. These cards have the breadcrumbs l

I did not like that EL Education does not have a product where you can clearly see the clipart pictures. It is impossible to find. I also did not like have the letters shown on top of the images. My first graders need to clearly see where their letters should be written, it is hard enough to keep them from reversing the formations. After countless hours of searching for an alphabet that fit my needs and also included the strange EL vocabulary for its images, I ended up creating my own. I hope t

We use these templates as we begin our Lucy Calkins Non-Fiction Writing Unit. But I believe they could be used with any Non-Fiction writing unit. I made several different versions of pages with more lines and less lines, different cover pages and blank ones as well. Check out the preview, but know there are other pages that are additional pages that aren't shown in the preview. Please let me know if your curriculum has an additional page that you like and would like added.

It's very important that when administering RTI that you keep a log of dates, skills and behavior. These forms will help you do just that!

Meeting with your students one-on-one can be very rewarding! They seem to open up and allow you get to know them better as readers and writers. I use the pages in my classroom to jot down notes about our visits. On both the reading and writing conference pages I leave room for a "glow" and a "grow." Glow: something the student did well. Grow: A goal to work on until the next time you meet. These really help me remember and keep track of skills that my friends are working on and ones they already

These are reading logs that I use in my classroom throughout the year. It is important for children to read each and every night! Having these logs is an easy way to keep track of pages and books read. :)
