Students can use beads, colorful cards, crayons, etc. to recreate these patterns.

This is an easy and creative way for students to get a general idea about how offspring of plants will receive the traits from their parents. They will first decide the traits of each parent apple including color, texture, flavor, etc. Then, they will combine those traits to create a new apple! *Can be paired with the Mystery Science lesson, "What is the biggest apple in the world?"
