I have taught for 26 years in a variety of grade levels and socio-economic levels. I have also worked as an elementary and secondary school counselor. I'm currently working as an education specialist at my local Education Service Center.
I have a B.S.I.S. from Midwestern State University, a Master's in Technology Integration from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master's of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University.
I have also worked as a Campus Technology Integration Facilitator, and have presented at local, regional, and state conferences.

These activities can be easily adapted to a contract, choice board, or activities menu. All of the activities can be used in a differentiated curriculum in a variety of grade levels.

Decimal Place Value Memory (Number/Number Word Matching Game)
This is a fun activity that can be used for practice and reinforcement with place value concepts using decimals to the tenths, hundredths and thousandths.
The place value concepts go from billions to thousandths. I use it with fifth grade but it could easily be adapted to fourth or sixth and seventh. I have a similar game for lower grades available for free from this website, as well.

Dia de los Muertos Unit / Day of the Dead Unit
These are the activities I use every year with my Junior High Spanish and Level 1 Spanish classes. (Since my Junior High classes are only one semester, I usually teach this unit in the fall and spring so all students receive it. I do the same with Cinco de Mayo.)
It includes: lesson plans, vocabulary, vocabulary key, an information "quest" using the internet (can also be done without internet access), two review puzzles, and a quiz or test with answer key.

Holiday Menu Project: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter
This item is a great project to do before a holiday break. I use it in my classroom if I finish a lesson just before a break, so I don't have to start something new. It could be used with Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, or any holiday. I traditionally use it at Thanksgiving, but it could be easily adapted to other holidays.

Animal Group Classification PowerPoint
This is a PowerPoint that I used to introduce the animal classification unit in second grade. It could easily be adapted to lower or higher grade levels.
Another way I used this was as a template. Students were grouped and only had the title on the slide. They then had to list the characteristics of the animal group they were responsible for. Then we were able to create a PowerPoint that everyone contributed to. You could also have groups complete an entire PowerPoint.

Spanish Country Research Project (could be used with any language)
This is a research project that I use with my Spanish classes. It could also be used with exploratory language or any other foreign language class (French, German, etc.). The students research a country and prepare a PowerPoint to accompany it. They must also make an oral presentation (in English).
The rubric is included to make grading a breeze. I print the pages front-to-back so the students have the exact rubric I will be using while they're working. I let them work alone or in pairs.

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Information Quest
This is a two-day activity I use with my junior high and first year Spanish students on Dia de los Muertos. It has 17 informational questions and one essay-response question about the holiday.
The information is found on two different websites, and the links are included on the worksheets. I use laptops or a computer lab with the students, however it can be done without technology, if needed. Spanish sentence order with adjectives
This assignment would make a great review or homework assignment after introducing adjectives. I use it as a homework grade in Introduction to Spanish. It could also be used in Advanced Spanish or Spanish I. The assignment has 30 basic sentences with all the words, but the words are out of order. There is room on the paper for students to rewrite the sentences correctly.

Data Collection and Statistics Activity for Junior High Math
This product is for a project or activity on data and statistics. It could be done individually or in groups. It works as a classroom project or "home" work. I have students complete one "home" project per six or nine week grading period, and this was definitely a favorite!

Adaptation Activity: Zoo Scavenger Hunt
This activity is meant to be completed during or after a study of animal adaptations.

Spanish Oral Presentation Project - easily adapted for other languages
This is an oral presentation that I use with my introductory middle school students, but it is applicable to any introductory level. Students use this as their first presentation, and it is all given in Spanish. It is a very brief speech about their likes and dislikes. Step-by-step instructions are given for the students.

National Fair State Report Forms and Information
You may be wondering what a National Fair is! Well, at my school it is a 44 year-old tradition done every year in fifth grade.
