This jeopardy games covers prime numbers, factoring, the distributive property, order of operations and writing expressions. Everything that was covered up to the mid module assessment for 6th grade NYS math is in the game. This is a great way to either review before the mid-module assessment or just a fun way to review terms before the state test. Enjoy!

I created a Powerpoint for theEgyptian Pyramids. This item was originally created for a 6th grade class, but it could be used with students that range from 4th grade to 8th grade depending on academic levels. The Powerpoint includes many different pictures and videos that go along with each slide. This Jeopardy Game is used to review all of module one for 6th grade math. The game reviews equivalent ratios/fractions, converting decimals, percent and fractions, the distance formula, solving percent problems and unit rate. This activity is a good way to break up your lesson from a boring worksheet and allow the students to get excited about what they are reviewing. Students will fill in the grid given either a percent, decimal, ratio, or fraction. Prior knowledge if required to fill out this worksheet. This falls towards the end of module 1 (ratios) for the 6th grade common core in New York State.

My 6th graders are working through module 1 at a much slower pace than the state has predicted. When I came across the mid-module assessment it was only about 4 questions long and does not tell me what my students know and need more help with. I have developed this exam which covers all of the topic we went through from lesson 1 to lesson 15 (ratios).

A review packet that goes along with all of the concepts students learned during the first half of module 1 (ratios). The packet is a good way to review for the test or simply see what your students know.

Students are using Skittles to find equivalent ratios, simplify ratios, practice ratios in all 3 forms and test out a hypothesis. This is a great cross curricular lesson including both science and math.

Given a bag of M&Ms students will create fractions, decimals and percents based on the colors they have in their bags to prove or disprove the claim made by the M&M company. I gave my students regular M&Ms, peanut M&Ms and peanut butter M&Ms based on student's ability. This test covers all of Module 2 following the 6th grade NYS Common Core Curriculum. When teaching this lesson I cut out most of the models which is reflected in this test. This Jeopardy Game reviews adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying decimals. It also reviews dividing fractions and mixed numbers.

This lesson makes students apply the distributive property while factoring algebraic expressions. They move back and forth between both forms for extra practice. This is something I have noticed the modules do not cover in enough depth and WILL be on the NYS exam in April.

This is a great first day of school packet for 6th grade math teachers who are using the common core. The lessons are respaced to give students more room to work and some questions may have been cut out of added. After teaching the Modules last year we all know that there is not enough time to get everything done so hopefully this will help!

This is a quiz that reviews lessons 16 through 23 of the 6th grade Ratios Module. I created the quiz to last about 40 minutes, but I had students that took a full hour. This is a great way to see what your students know prior to the final exam.
