Sixth grade math standards (for NC) broken down into essential questions, important vocabulary, and example questions. They're organized by strand- Ratios & Proportional Reasoning, Number Sense, Expressions & Equations, Geometry, and Statistics & Probability. You can print the pages of one strand to use as a study guide during the year, or as a way to prepare for EOG testing.
There are 126 different vocabulary words that fit fifth/sixth/seventh grade math, depending on your situation. It covers all strands, from numbers and operations to data to geometry. Each word has a definition and graphic and/or example to support understanding.
This is a compiled Google Doc of 18 warm-ups- usually 4 problems (but ranges 1-4)- with which to start off your math block. They're meant to be a quick formative assessment on student understanding of already covered material. There are four 'copies' to a page to save on printing. Just FYI, I like to use*all* of the multiplication symbols (x • *), so you can change those to your preference. QR codes link to various instructional videos for work on fraction operations. This was created for a single student of mine this year who was well ahead of all of the others in the class. Many videos also contain practice problems.
This resource is aimed at increasing engagement during your decimal operations unit. Students randomly draw an occupation before they begin. They then use the given monthly salary (based on the average salary in North Carolina before taxes...) to determine what they can afford. Some kids will be able to afford the best of everything. Also included is a challenge question for higher grade levels or high-achieving students in your classroom.
Using the answer sheet provided requires students to explain their work, which is required of many math standards.

Students get to have fun creating a fun design in the 10x10 square- but then they have to do the math! For each color, they need to record the equivalent value as a decimal, fraction (including simplest form), and percent.
