I use these style of questions as warm-up/bell-ringers to review a concept covered in the previous class. About the store

Experience

I have 10 years teaching experience with a concentration in Middle Grades History and Mathematics. I have taught Math Course 1, Math Course 2, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra 1 as well as World History, U.S. History, and Civics.

Teaching style

I believe in beginning each lesson in the traditional sense: notes with some direct instruction. However, students are encouraged and expected to actively participate in their own learning. They work collaboratively to complete projects, games, and tasks to solidify their learning. On several occasions, students will teach lessons to their peers. With this balance of instructional methods, students have demonstrated their learning and retention of information.

Additional biographical information

I came into teaching unexpectedly and am so glad I did. I started teaching Civics and Language Arts my first year but have taught, simultaneously, Math and History since then. I find joy in both subject areas. Although different, each offers myself and my students ways to express ourselves in the classroom.
