Teaching style

I focus on instruction design, which lies at the crossroads of both the educational tradition (instructional) and the artistic tradition (design). An effective learning experience often includes the meeting of instructional objectives, which is part of the science of learning, but also the proverbial “lighting of a fire,” or the art of learning. This is the primary value of aesthetics in instructional design: “the bridge between [an instructional] product and the user’s emotion and feeling” (David & Glore, 2010, para. 6).
