About the store
I retired from a 30-year career as high school math teacher. I am actively involved in providing professional development for math teachers grades 4-12. My passion is helping students (of all ages) get through prior stumbling blocks to learning math in a meaningful way. It is very important to me that activities, presentations and all documents used for learning look professional. I have been a lead person in my district for creating benchmark exams used by thousands of students. I helped create a website for our teachers that contains classroom activities that are ready to use.

Matching Activity: Quadratic Equations--identifying a, b & c
These cards are for cutting up. Students then work in pairs or small groups to identify the matches. This was designed to help students practice identifying the values for a, b and c in quadratic equations written in various forms. Directions include five possible uses for the cards and an answer key. The quadratic equations are not all written in standard form, so this will require the students to do some algebraic manipulations.
9th - 12th, Adult Education

Matching Activity: Perfect Squares of -15 to 15
This is a perfect way to review squared integers using -15, -14, ... 0, 1, 2, ...14, 15. Directions include six possible ways to use the cards. The cards are initially arranged in the form of the answer key. That is, each row of the table constitutes matches.
7th - 10th, Adult Education
Basic Operations, Math Test Prep, Mental Math
Matching Activity: Simplified Square Roots
This activity is a wonderful way to review simplified square roots, often needed at the trigonometry and calculus level. Can also be used in lower level classes. Directions include five possible uses for these cards. Answers are included.

Matching Activity: Expressions with Exponents
This was designed to help students see equivalent forms of expressions containing exponents. As a matching activity, there are technically four cards for each match, but you can have students match cards in sets of two, if desired. Directions include five possible uses for the cards and an answer key.

Teaching style
Since I am a visual learner, I believe in using color to help accentuate connections in concepts. Besides including graphics with my activities, I try to present material in multiple modalities. I firmly believe that all students can learn math and excel in it. I have a "growth mindset," and work to help others understand how that can help them learn math. My favorite thing to say to any person who says, "I'm not good in math," is "You aren't good in math YET!"
My own education history
Masters of Arts and Bachelors of Science degrees in Mathematics from San José State University. Single Subject teaching credential in mathematics also from San José State University.

Did I mention that I love math? I have presented workshops at local, state and national conferences for math teachers for almost thirty years.
