The teacher will give the students clues to find a hidden piece of candy within 3 coordinate planes. Students must graph a system of inequalities to narrow down the search area, then a system of equations to pinpoint the location of the candy.
Tape graphs around the room. Students partner up and find the equation of each graph. The students will write their answer on a piece of paper and fold it to hide the answer then tape it to the board. All answers are anonymous. At the end of the activity all answers are revealed and compared.
Place graphs around the classroom. Students will start at a graph of their chose and determine the equation of the line. The students will then find the correct equation another paper somewhere in the room. When they find the correct answer, they must find the equation of the new graph. repeat this process until they are back where they started.
Each student will write a set of ordered pairs on a sticky note. Then students will trade sticky notes and find the inverse of each other's relation. The activity is set up to model a speed dating session. the students are given a minute to find the inverse. When a time sounds, students switch partners.
Scatter plot activity for identifying domain and range, correlation and finding slope and line of best fit.
