About the store
I spent six years teaching in a self-contained classroom for students with Autism grades 3-5 at a public school in Northern Virginia. In 2019 I left the public school system to work at a private center for students with Autism. I passed my board in 2021, became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst that summer. I have worked at the same center ever since working with students with Autism ages 3-17. I use a combination of the students I had as a teacher and the students I work with now to create these products.

Tally O'Malley-A Tally Mark Book Companion

I love using Tally O'Malley to introduce the concept of tally marks when working on graphing to my students. My students have so much trouble concentrating during a book, though, and benefit from an activity. I made these worksheets to go along with the book to help my students stay engaged. The book has three diferrent times they collect tally marks. There is a worksheet to correspond with each time. Verison A has a small A in the top left corner-in this verison the children set up their own

Experience

I spent six years teaching in a self-contained classroom for students with Autism grades 3-5 at a public school in Northern Virginia. In 2019 I left the public school system to work at a private center for students with Autism. I passed my board in 2021, became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst that summer. Teaching style

I love creating adapted materials to help all of my learners succeed! Many of the students I had when I was teaching participated in the Virginia Alternative Assessment Program (VAAP) so I made a lot of materials to align to these standards. I also love creating errorless learning materials, behavior-based products, and a variety of items that can be used to work on IEP goals and program goals.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I created and led an Autism Awareness Day at my school that helped spread acceptance!

My own education history

I have a Masters in Special Education K-12 and a graduate level certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis and in Adapted Curriculum from George Mason University

Additional biographical information

I live in Northern Virginia with my husband, an 11-year-old beagle mix rescue dog and a 17-year-old tabby cat I inherited from my aunt. I love cooking and reading in my free time!
