About the store

I am in my 25th year teaching. I have 20 years of middle school math experience that includes basic, support math through to Algebra 1. I have also taught 5th grade. I am a Activboard Trainer in my district. I love to create engaging lessons and activities for my students. I have been lucky enough to teach in two different countries, the USA and New Zealand.

This Assignment Needs Another Look!

How many times have we shared this wish with our students because the quality of work and/or the effort is lacking. I no longer say this to my students, I simply attach this slip to their work and return it to them to correct. The slip clearly shows why the work is being returned, giving students valuable feedback on what good work looks like. In my class, any work that is returned with this slip is only worth half credit until it is returned with the problem fixed. :)

Experience

Teaching style

I am a hands on teacher. I like lessons that promote discussion and thinking in my classroom. I like my students to be a bit off balance while they are working through a lesson so that they are truly working through the process of learning. I find it thrilling when my students come out of a lesson feeling accomplished and like the really understand the concepts we are working on. :)
