About the store

Experience

15 years of teaching experience, working with students from 9th to 12th grade, guides the creation of products for Algebra 1 for Everyone. This time has primarily been spent working in urban schools and teaching inclusion classes. For the last 10 years I have taught inclusion Algebra 1 and have focused on creating differentiated Algebra 1 lessons and worksheets to meet the needs of all students both low and high achieving.

Teaching style

I utilize short videos, graphic organizers, and differentiated worksheets to meet the needs of all students. Short videos (~15 minutes) introduce a topic to students while the students record their notes on a graphic organizer. Each video begins with a brief explanation of the overall idea, continues with examples, discussion of common mistakes, and an EOC style example. Each topic typical includes 2-4 practice assignments consisting of differentiated questions to give all students access to the material. Questions are tiered into 3 levels providing extra practice for struggling students, grade level examples, and a challenge for accelerated students. Most practice assignments include EOC test examples.

My own education history

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from The Ohio State University in 2008 and a Master of Education with a focus in Math, Science, and Technology Education from The Ohio State University in 2009.
