Hi! After earning a Masters Degree in 7-12 Math Education, I have now taught for 10+ years in both an inner-city public school classroom setting and a suburban private school classroom setting; I've spent even more years tutoring students in math. My driving vision as a teacher is to give my students as many tools for their math tool belts as I can, providing them with everything they need to solve problems, think critically, build understanding, and communicate their mathematical thinking with their peers. I want math to feel welcoming and accessible to students of all abilities and get everyone actively involved in their own learning. I want to build my students' confidence, get them talking about math, thinking analytically, and building deep conceptual understanding. In order to do that, we do a lot of thinking, talking, and moving in my classroom though a large variety of activities/tasks/games/etc. My classroom data backs this up; my students have consistently achieved the highest growth scores on standardized tests and also met or exceeded mastery on these end-of-the-year state tests. I'm excited to share my resources with you!
