This mini unit is intended for distance learning or 1:1 Algebra1 Classes. All lessons and work are online and ready to load to google classroom.  The mini unit will take at least four periods.  Students will learn: 1. Vocabulary for parts of a parabola  2. Formulas for finding the axis of symmetry and the vertex 3. Graphing by using a function table 4. Finding x-intercepts  It does not cover vertex form, completing the square, or applications.  The lessons begin by reviewing prerequisite skills.

Struggling students seem to have less working memory than those who excel at math. These students have difficulty remembering the steps of an algorithm and math facts simultaneously, especially in long division.  All students can master division if their practice is designed to lessen the load on working memory.
