Every year I dread teaching and re-teaching students how to cite text-based evidence. Each year I give a reading survey to my students to find out each student's reading confidence, likes, dislikes, favorite genres, favorite authors, etc. Not only will this survey give you a better feel of your classes reading attitude it will help you create a love of reading in your students.
