Students can choose from 4 decades - 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's. They will research prices of typical items and compare them to prices now. They will determine the percent change. Each decade also comes with other activities - shopping, dining, etc. with required information. They will practice markdowns, mark-ups, tax, tip, simple interest.
Graph data points and determine the type of plot. You could also add line of best fit or slope to these graphs if you want to take this to the next level.
Practice using multiple representations to represent functions. Each problem requires students to complete a tables, graph the situation and write an equation. They also use the equation to make predictions. These are simple problems. Good for CP level 8th grade or 7th grade pre-algebra.
This is a great digital activity. Upload slide one to one drive and share the assignment on Schoology or whatever platform you use. Students will drag and drop answers to either "Trick" (Wrong Answer) or "Treat" (Correct Answer). Editable Document. Answer key included.
