8th Grade Standard math Data and Statistics Christmas Themed Project.

Students can choose from 4 decades - 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's. They will research prices of typical items and compare them to prices now. They will determine the percent change. Each decade also comes with other activities - shopping, dining, etc. with required information. They will practice markdowns, mark-ups, tax, tip, simple interest.

Graph, write equations and compare rates of change. These are simple problems for 8th grade standard math students. These real world problems help make functions relevant. Compare Unit Rates by solving real world problems.

Graph data points and determine the type of plot. You could also add line of best fit or slope to these graphs if you want to take this to the next level.

Practice using multiple representations to represent functions. Each problem requires students to complete a tables, graph the situation and write an equation. They also use the equation to make predictions. These are simple problems. Good for CP level 8th grade or 7th grade pre-algebra.
